Porn recovery apps in 2026: what to look for
Escape is a porn recovery app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that does the five things a good one should do in 2026: blocking that holds, help in the moment an urge hits, a private count of your days, short lessons, and a way to keep a person involved without anyone seeing your activity. It needs no account, and nothing is sent to anyone.
Blocking that holds on a bad night
Look for blocking that is still standing at 1 AM, when you are tired and hunting for a way around it. Escape's free Safari blocker covers 40,000+ known adult sites on iPhone, iPad and Mac the moment you turn it on. The list is curated, so it also catches mirror and variant addresses of big sites.
With Premium, Deep Block carries blocking into every browser on iPhone and iPad, private tabs included. You can block the apps that pull you in, and blocking windows switch that on by themselves, such as The Late-Night Window from 10 PM to 6 AM. Strict Mode adds a wait of 30, 60 or 120 minutes before blocking can be turned off, so a weak moment does not get the last word.
Help in the moment an urge hits
An urge feels like it will never let go, but it rises and falls. A good app gives you something to do while it does. Escape's panic button and 90-second urge tool are made for that moment: open one, follow it, and let the wave pass before you decide anything. Both are part of Premium. Here is how a panic button helps.
A private count of your days
Watching the days add up keeps a lot of people going. Escape's free streak counter shows the time since you last watched porn: minutes in the first hour, then hours, then days and hours, and from day 90, days only. It lives on your phone, and as a Home Screen widget it keeps your days in view.
Learning what is going on
Blocking buys you time. Understanding why you keep going back is what makes that time count. Escape has 28 short recovery courses. The first day of each course is free in the app, and you can read every lesson free on this website, before you install anything.
A person in it, privately
Many people do better with someone on their side. With Premium, a partner or trusted friend can hold Escape's protection passcode, so turning protection off needs them. They never see what you browse, because Escape never sees it either: blocking happens on your own device, and Escape's App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected. More on accountability that stays private.
Set it up tonight
- Turn on the Safari blocker. It is free and blocks 40,000+ adult sites right away.
- Put your count in view. Add the free streak widget to your Home Screen.
- Close the side doors. With Premium, turn on Deep Block, block the apps that pull you in, and add Strict Mode's wait.
- Decide who holds the key. If you want a person in it, ask someone you trust to hold the protection passcode, which you set up in Strict Mode. If not, Strict Mode's wait still stands between you and a weak moment.
Escape is on the App Store.
Common questions
What is the best porn recovery app in 2026?
Look for one that covers five things: blocking that holds, help in an urge, a private day count, short lessons, and a way to keep a person involved. Escape covers all five on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with no account.
Do I need an account to use Escape?
No. Escape needs no account, no name and no email. Blocking happens on your own device, and its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
What is free in Escape?
The Safari blocker for 40,000+ known adult sites on iPhone, iPad and Mac, the private streak counter, PIN Protection (which locks Escape itself), and the first day of each course in the app. You can read every lesson free on this website. Deep Block, app blocking, Strict Mode and its protection passcode, Blocked Words, the panic button, the 90-second urge tool and the rest of the lessons in the app are part of Premium.
Is Escape a parental-control app?
No. Escape is for anyone 13 or older blocking their own phone. For a young child's device, Apple's own Screen Time with Family Sharing is the right tool.
Escape blocks porn in Safari for free, extends to every browser with Deep Block, and adds a 90-second urge ritual, practice games that retrain how you meet an urge, and 28 short courses on identity and the long arc of recovery. No account, no personal tracking.
